• i have prints

i have prints available for the open studio weekend 🙂 these are excerpts from my paintings printed on hahnemühle paper.

a wonderful friend helped me create the prints, and I am very happy with the quality. I also love digitizing my work and resizing it, such as enlarging individual sections. each print has a run of 25, but there are also unique pieces. for the uniques, we scanned, colored, and printed old drawings. then, I drew on these prints again.

  • mushroom

my illustration for a mushroom categorization map:)

  • rusty

I went to a urban sketching meet up and it turns out I’m pretty rusty, time to practice some more… still pretty fun:)

  • be a fish

always keep swimming and don’t let yourself get stressed!

I haven’t done linocut for a long time because I thought I hated it, turns out it’s not true at all.

  • falling

finally finished this piece and i’m really happy with it!

finding the right balance of color and form took me a while, and for my next painting the goal is definitely: less detail, more broad forms.

but i love how the bodies collapse into each other, catching one another the moment they finally touch.

  • another body update

since i started a new job, i don’t have as much time to paint as i’d like. but i got to spend the last two days in my studio

also i’m glad the “ugly phase” is finally over! now it’s all about refining the forms and making the shapes more defined. feeling much better about this painting now.

  • update

the bodys are still a work in progress.

  • colliding bodies

i started a new painting, this is the state two days into it and at the moment i think it is in its „ugly stage“ so i am trying not to worry too much about it.

i really enjoy working on a large canvas. i built it myself and didn’t prime it because i like how you see the texture of the fabric. maybe next time i’ll try a slightly heavier material. i am also quite happy with the colour palette i and with the sketch, but I hope I will find the time soon to continue so we can get over this stage and into more details.

  • painting clouds

i made some small canvases out of scraps and painted them with vibrant clouds. i used acyl and some new acyl markers. it was super quick and really fun to paint them in a more cartoonish and over-dramatic way.

  • growing closer

back at painting, although my studio is so cold! I love how dark and gloomy these vegetation pieces turned out! I also enjoyed painting on raw canvas again, definitely sticking with that!

I think this piece will not be part of my body series, but will stand on its own. I used a super lightweight raw cotton fabric and dyed it before stretching it on a stretcher bar.

painting was quite straightforward this time, but as i often do, once i had laid out my composition, i rotated the canvas before going in.
