• colliding bodies

i started a new painting, this is the state two days into it and at the moment i think it is in its „ugly stage“ so i am trying not to worry too much about it.

i really enjoy working on a large canvas. i built it myself and didn’t prime it because i like how you see the texture of the fabric. maybe next time i’ll try a slightly heavier material. i am also quite happy with the colour palette i and with the sketch, but I hope I will find the time soon to continue so we can get over this stage and into more details.

  • painting clouds

i made some small canvases out of scraps and painted them with vibrant clouds. i used acyl and some new acyl markers. it was super quick and really fun to paint them in a more cartoonish and over-dramatic way.

  • growing closer

back at painting, although my studio is so cold! I love how dark and gloomy these vegetation pieces turned out! I also enjoyed painting on raw canvas again, definitely sticking with that!

I think this piece will not be part of my body series, but will stand on its own. I used a super lightweight raw cotton fabric and dyed it before stretching it on a stretcher bar.

painting was quite straightforward this time, but as i often do, once i had laid out my composition, i rotated the canvas before going in.

  • exhibition

at the beginning of november, we had an open studio weekend. It was so nice to showcase some of my paintings in the gallery.

  • work in prozess

today I´m working on new paintings in my series „my body becomes your body“

  • lemon bodys

finally done! took a little summer break from painting, but i’ve finally finished these lonely lemons. don’t they look juicy and somewhat perishable? this is the fourth painting in my series: „my body becomes your body“.

although it took me a while to complete this painting, the process felt smoother compared to my last one. the composition was clear from the start and remained largely unchanged.

  • starting a big one

so i am starting a bigger canvas and will continue with my series „my body becomes your body“.

this is the work in progress so far.

  • my body becomes your body

soft bodys nearly hugging. peel breaks open. i enjoyed painting these physalis so much. i think this is becoming a series, a series of bodies trying to get closer to each other.

  • dripping plums

closeness. distance. ripe gaps. this is an in-between painting.

I really struggled with it (as you can see in the video), I reworked parts of it several times, but now I think it is finished.

  • starting

two bodies colliding. almost. not quite touching. also looks like pears to me.

i took a long break from painting, i think the last time i painted was at uni. but somehow it all comes back to me now and i want to dive into it. over the winter i painted some small pieces, mostly landscapes, but it felt a bit stiff and forced, so i think i will go back to abstract painting.
